How It Started

Blooming KOCO is a US based Korean cosmetic online shop that targets 20-40s women. Majority of sales are coming from their loyal customers who purchased 3 times or more.
The goal of this SMS project was to accelerate sales throughout the highest season in November, navigate more interactive ways to make recurring customers while providing exclusive benefits for loyal customers.
In that sense, SMS marketing has so much potential to grow brand loyalty, and acts as a key role to deliver exclusive deals as it is delivered occasionally compared to Email marketing.

My Role

- Had a meeting with stakeholders to persuade with potential outcome and explain SMS marketing strategies.
- Conducted meetings with a SMS Marketing Partner to find the best practice for Blooming KOCO.
- Generated overall marketing plans and worked closely with a graphic designer to create promotional images.
- Planned and optimized the landing page and execute A/B testing

Solutions

- Integrated SMS Marketing tool with Shopify store and initiated plan before November to obtain subscribers.
- Conducted email marketing to loyal customers to notify SMS subscription benefits.
- Worked with E-Commerce team to set up a monthly/weekly marketing plans for accelerating Black Friday marketing efficiency and maximizing sales.
- Collaborated with a graphic designer to deliver directions on image guidelines.
- Executed and monitored weekly campaigns and optimized by A/B testings on messaging, image, coupon codes, and delivery date.


Results & Next Steps

Throughout the month, gained 698 subscribers and earned over $18K total online revenue with 31.4 ROI. Also, boosted overall marketing campaign’s CTR by 15.7%, which is 5 times higher than the previous period.

With the earned customer base, Blooming KOCO converted them to loyal and recurring customer by offering exclusive site benefits and early access to deal news.
